Meet the IOA Support Staff
All administrators of IOA hail from education backgrounds,
including teachers, administrators, and parents of students.

Mary Brabson joined Central Indiana Educational Service Center in February of 1998, serving in different capacities in Professional Development and Technology. Mary brought to CIESC prior experiences in the corporate arena with retail merchandising and marketing. As an employee trainer in retail management for Furrow Building Materials, Mary brings the experience of education to the Service Center as well. Mary has owned and operated 2 small businesses. In 1989, Mary served as a commercial property manager. Her education incorporates business management, computer science, accounting and tax laws. Mary is the mother of 3 sons, who are attending college in Indiana. |

Rachel Helbling is the IOA Technology Coordinator. She developed and then taught the IOA Earth/Space Science course for several years. She received her bachelor's degree from Hampshire College and her Masters in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University. She taught junior high school science in Connecticut for four years before getting married and relocating to Indiana, where she taught at Ben Davis Junior High and then Ben Davis High School. She has also been the recipient of the IPALCO Golden Apple award. Rachel is the mother of two young children; Mallory and Michael. |

Raymond M. Lawrence is the IOA Administrator. He recently retired as Principal of Speedway High School, where he served for twelve years. During the 1994-95 school year, he was an intern to the Superintendent of Carmel Clay Schools. From 1979 to 1994, he taught English and coached swimming at Carmel High School. Prior to that, Ray taught 7th and 8th grade English and Science at St. Gabriel School. |
